Bollywood’s first couple Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, who celebrate their second anniversary on April 20, had earlier planned to make it a working affair but now the plans have changed.
The couple was supposed to shoot for for their movie Ravana on their wedding anniversary because director Mani Ratnam wanted to shoot some crucial scenes of the film in Kerala’s Chalakudy jungles from April 20 onwards.
However, earlier this week, Ratnam was admitted to hospital due to difficulty in breathing and chest pain. This has put a question mark over the upcoming schedule of Ravana.
Now that the doctors have said that Ratnam needs some time to recover, Ash and Abhi have decided to take a quick break from their hectic schedules.
According to reports the couple is likely to go on a brief holiday for their second wedding anniversary, which might be Europe or the US.
Last year, they could not celebrate their wedding anniversary because the family was mourning Teji Bachchan s death. This year, they may finally get to celebrate the completion of two years as husband and wife.

Call it a casting coup or a thunder of sorts but Bollywood director Satish Kaushik and Rajshri Productions have made the impossible possible. The latest buzz has it that ‘Tansen’, touted to be one of the costliest Hindi films to be ever made, will star Abhishek, Aishwarya, Anil Kapoor and none other than Vivek Oberoi. ‘Tansen’ is said to be based on the life of the famous Mughal court singer by the same name and will see Abhishek playing the lead role. The much talked about film is set to be shot in Bangkok first and then at other international locations such as Australia and New Zealand.
The shooting of the flick is reported to be beginning from next month itself.Incidentally, the last film based on musician-singer prodigy Tansen dates back to pre independence era in 1943, when KL Saigal played the role of Tansen and eternalised it with his impressive screen presence and vocals in Jayanti Desai directed film. In today’s scenario, the only singer who acts is Himesh Reshammiya and news has it that Kaushik did consider Himesh for the project but Barjatyas, who are known as sticklers to custom, shot down the idea. With this, the mantle fell on the shoulders of junior Bachchan – Abhishek.
Explaining Abhishek as the final choice for Tansen, Satish said, “He has the look and intensity. He also has the dialogue delivery of his father. And we do need a Tansen who thinks in Hindi and talks the language fluently.”

Aishwarya Rai-Rajnikahnth starrer ‘Robot‘ aka ‘Endhiran‘ will the the most expensive film made in India with a titanic budget of 120 crores.
After the thundering success of Shivaji: The Boss, ‘Robot‘ re teams superstar Rajnikanth and ace director S.Shanker. Director Shankar had planned for his trademark signature song that is usually extravagant and the budget for that was quoted to be close to Rs 30 crores.
But the juice of the film is that Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai was offered a whopping 6 Crores to play the female lead. She has now become the highest paid Bollywood actress in history.
‘Robot’ has been in the tabloids for quite a while now. It is being believed that the Bachchan daughter-in -law Aishwarya is miffed with dear ‘Pa’ Amitabh over her yet to be released flick ‘Robot’, which has become a never ending woe for Ash.

According to reports, the reason for her displeasure is the fact that it was Amitabh who’d insisted upon her to sign on Shankar’s ‘Robot’ opposite Rajinikanth but now the movie seems to have become a thing of trouble for Ash. Apparently, Ash wasn’t too keen to give a nod to the movie’s proposal but it was ‘Pa’ who told her to go ahead as he was obliged to Rajini for the same.
Industry insiders suggest that the movie has been delayed to the hilt and it’s due to this that Ash is not able to sign on new projects since she has to finish off with ‘Robot’ first. Some reports even indicate towards a supposed string of disagreements between Ash and Shankar (the director of ‘Robot’) on the last minute changes in the script as well as over little nuances like make-up and clothes.

Rani Mukerji hit the gym with a vengeance for a toned look for ‘Hadippa‘ with Shahid Kapur. The actress is quite happy with the outcome and feels that, like Aamir Khan, she will also set the screen on fire with her new avatar.
‘She is not believing that it is her body. She even jokes and calls herself the female version of Aamir (Khan) in ‘Ghajini‘ now. She was even telling me that like his body set the screen on fire, her looks in ‘Hadippa’ will leave no stone unturned,’ celebrity trainer Satyadev ‘Satya’ Chaurasia told IANS.
‘Hadippa’ is the 31-year-old star’s only release this year and she is trying to keep her new look cloaked from the paparazzi before the movie promotions.
‘Rani is very committed towards her body and her dedication has resulted in mind-blowing results. I felt so happy and proud after seeing the first rushes of ‘Hadippa‘. She is looking outstanding and I can undoubtedly say she has the best body in now,’ said Satyadev.

It seems the romance between Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor is a cause of concern for Vidya Balan. Since, Shahid and Priyanka are neighbours and are frequently spotted in each others home, it’s now learnt that Vidya Balan has brought a new pad in Shahid’s building and is planning to

India is one of those countries where religion and culture still mix and a lot of things are still considered taboo. But sometimes these things just go a little too far and get blown out of proportion. Maybe it’s because people put movie stars on pedestals and expect them to follow rigid standards of what’s proper or right. Most of the time they themselves don’t even live up to these standards. Or maybe people just think that things are a certain way, when they really aren’t.
Well this time the man affected is Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle Khanna. That’s right-the mega star has had a case filed against him. Why? Because at Lakme Fashion Week when he was getting ready to walk the catwalk, he asked his wife Twinkle Khanna to unbutton his jeans. Seeing as how he’s the brand ambassador of Levi’s “Unbuttoned”, it wasn’t like he was being dirty.
Of course, someone out there had to get all bent out of shape and said he was “offended” by the action. The culprit who filed a case against the superstar is a social worker by the name of Anil P. Nayar and he thinks the act was “vulgar and indecent”. SG Pandey, a lawyer of the man told Reuters that “After the preliminary inquiry, we will register a case against Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna, the abettor of the Lakme Fashion Week show and the top management of the Grand Hyatt and we will take action against them.” Do they really think that they’ll actually win?
Seems like this guy’s just after some money and probably just needs to get out more. If he’s so offended by silly things like this, why was he at a fashion show where he would undoubtedly see scantily clad women? This is on par with people in the slums trying to sue Danny Boyle because his movie was titled ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, people forcing Shahrukh Khan to change his recent movie from ‘Billu Barber’ to just ‘Billu’, or my personal favorite the Richard Gere/Shilpa Shetty kiss of 2007.
These people just seem to come out of the woodwork and never seem to reflect the views of the majority. It’s lucky for Akshay Kumar that he is a big star. He and his wife probably have their own set of lawyers to deal with this incident.
So what do our readers think about this latest case? Do you think that the social worker was going too far? Or do you think that it was “vulgar and indecent” for a husband to ask his wife to unbutton his jeans before he went on stage for a brand of jeans called “Unbuttoned”? Let us know your thoughts on this incident.

After Ayesha Takia, it was Amrita-Shakeel to tie the knot in a big, fat Indian wedding. Amrita Arora married her long time boyfriend Shakeel Ladhak in a week-long wedding ceremony attended by many from Bollywood.

The celebrations, which began on March 4th and continued till the weekend, included a church wedding at Bandra, a ‘nikaah’ ceremony at a mosque, colourful ’sangeet’ and ‘mehendi’ ceremonies and a grand reception at Taj Land’s End Hotel for the who’s who of Bollywood. The ’sangeet’ ceremony, hosted by Salman Khan’s sister Alvira Agnihotri, had Farah Khan choreographing a musical skit and many beautiful pairs of Bollywood shaking their assets for the bride and groom. It is said that of all the songs, Saif and Kareena’s number ‘Kajra Re’ from Bunty Aur Babli won the most applause.

Biography

Amrita Arora’s striking looks and a chirpy personality made sure that she didn’t stay in her sister Malaika Arora’s shadow for long and she held her own with a bagful of ad offers, movies and the who’s who of the film industry as her best buddies.
Basics on Amrita
Amrita Arora, also known as Ammu, was born on 31st January 1978 in Mumbai, India to Joyce Polycrap, a Malayali and Anil Arora, a Punjabi.

Jumbo (Animation)
Cast: Voice of Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta, Dimple Kapadia
Jumbo the bollywood movie has broken some serious pathways into the bollywood animation film industry with excellent computer animation. Although the animation has definitely improved, with the animals, the humans and the backdrop forming a picturesque collage, the story is completely outdated.
Little Jumbo the elephant sets out to look for his lost father and ends up losing his mother (Dimple Kapadia) too. His search leads him to an exiled kingdom which seeks to regain its lost glory under a benevolent prince. Jumbo grows up to become the king’s warrior elephant and leads him into battle for a final conflict with his arch enemy, the belligerent tusker, Bhaktavar (Gulshan Grover). Enroute, our warrior mammoth discover true love too, with his childhood consort, the pink and pretty, Sonia (Lara Dutta).
Animation films can afford to resort to cliches provided they stretch it to the extent of spoof. Unfortunately Jumbo doesn’t get satirical but formulaic. It is severely short on humour with its only coherent comic character being a Zazoo kind of birdie (voiced by Rajpal Yadav).
Jumbo draws its inspiration from Lion King in its coming-of-age theme where a young elephant must reclaim his lost family honour and emerge a winner. But the film not only lacks the grandeur of scale, but also the sheer joyousness of the cult film.

Obviously, Jumbo was not meant to be a Lion King , nor even a Finding Nemo , so we shall not compare….But why must Indian animators pitch their film at a five-year-old IQ? Also, why this Panchatantra comic book feel to the story which is still trapped in the prince-battle-kingdom kitsch? Sitting through a public screening of the film, you are struck by the fact that not a single kid’s chuckle, giggle, guffaw, rings through the hall, as Jumbo pedantically teaches you about desh prem and devotion to family.
The voice-overs of Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta fail to add the requisite spice. And the only time the film perks up a bit is when Rajpal Yadav chirrups for Dildar, the pesky messenger bird. Time for Indian animation to take a chill pill and bring out the laughs along with the mandatory moral of the story.
