MUMBAI: A film director was arrested on Sunday in suburban Versova after he allegedly raped a girl whom he had promised a role in a film, police
said.
“The director Ramkumar Kumawat has directed some small budget films and the victim, who is about 24-year-old, had gone to audition for a role in his film some time back,” a senior police official from the Versova police station said. (more…)

Look who is back? It’s actress Udita Goswami, who made B-town take her note with her debut role as mountain girl in Pooja Bhatt’s Paap. The actress gone completely out of sight after doing couple of films like Agar, Zeher and Aksar. But, once again she caught in media attention when found hand in hand with director Mohit Suri. Then only we came to know that the actress is much serious about her acting career and holds four films in her kitty to release in 2009.
“I just decided to give my career the importance it deserves,” says Udita
Udita will next appear in Hello India opposite Akshay Kumar, Fox along with Arjun Rampal and Sunny Deol, Jagmohan Mundra’s Chase with kicking role and The Man, which is home production of Sunny.
After films like Aksar and Zehar, Udita did shows with singer Himesh Reshammiya for almost year. She candidly adds that with the shows she earned lots of money but lost her attention to acting. Now she has worked on herself by cutting her tresses short and hitting the gym for the work she really belongs to. “In front of the camera,” says the heighty.
The tall frame with flawless complexion later added, “I made a few mistakes with my career; but now I’m all set to rectify those mistakes. From now on, films will be top priority.”
Udita who is once again bitten by the acting bug don’t want anything to come her way to acting career, including her relationship with director Mohit Suri. “We’re close, we’re friends but nothing is going to come in the way of my professional achievements,” adds Udita. However besides acting she also has some other plans with in the film industry like script writing. “Some day, in the near future, I plan to step behind the camera as well,” says the actress. But when you look at her new sensuous look, one can guess that she has much to do with acting right now. “I’m ready to take chances with my roles.”
“If I make an impression – it’ll be fantastic. If I fail, then at least I can say I was honest to myself. I’ve never been more serious about my acting career than I am now,” says the well poised actress.

But with recent bonding between John and Katrina and reports of Salman Khan throwing out Katrina’s stuff from his house made it quite obvious.
However, going by the statements that the couple is making, it seems all’s well in the Katrina n Salman paradise.
As per media reports, Katrina says “I’ve no idea where this story started from, Salman was very angry and he was ready to clear the air with the people who started it, but they didn’t come on the line. So obviously, someone’s up to mischief.”

Yes Folks! Shahid Kapoor became a year older on 25 February ( At 28 27 he still looks quite young-I can see that jealous grin on your face guys 
). The chocolate boy of the film industry Shahid Kapoor arrived in this big bad Bewafa world on 25 February, 1981. Shahid Kapoor is a true Piscean who is deeply creative and artistic, which is topped by his enhanced intuitive abilities. Another important trait of Pisces, which is very well seen in Shahid, is that he is a great friend and a romantic partner. Well this was proved reasonably well with the way he his happy for his ex-ahem ahem and the way he was with her before they called it quits.
Shahid made his entry into the tinsel town with the movie Ishq Vishq which fetched him the Filmfare for best Debutant. But the road was not smooth for him in spite of being the son of famous actors. Although his personal life is in a big turmoil, his professional life is going great, as he has landed himself a plum assignment with none other than Yashraj’s and is also gearing up for his father Pankaj Kapoor�s home production, which has the young Kapoor in the main lead.

Salman Khan surprised one and all with his pony-tailed look at the music launch party of Pahlaj Nihalani’s new flick, Khusboo-The fragnace of Love.
Apparently Salman is growing his tresses (or implanting them) for his look in his upcoming movie Tarzan.

hunk was looking chic in a suit and gelled pony tailed hair and surprisely arrived exactly on time at the launch party.
It’s been a month since Kanav Puri returned to London and girlfriend Amisha patel is already missing him terribly. Says a source close to the couple, “After setting up his New Delhi office (for which he had come down last year), Kanav returned to London. He has been travelling a lot; apart from Delhi, he travelled to Dubai, Hong Kong but would always come back to India to be with Amisha. Now, Patel is miserable without him.”
The source adds that the actress understands that she is in a long-distance relationship but it doesn’t stop her from missing him. “Before Kanav left, Amisha was in New Delhi for three days to bid him farewell. Now that he’s returned to London, Kanav’s business commitments won’t allow him to return till Amisha’s birthday in June.”
The couple has found a way of keeping in touch apart from e-mails and phone calls. “Both Amisha and Kanav are extremely romantic. Before Kanav left Amisha, she made him wear his favourite shirt for Three days, sleep in it, and has kept it with her. Now whenever she misses him, she holds it close to her and goes to sleep with the shirt next to her.”
If Amisha has Kanav’s shirt with his smell on it, Kanav is not far behind. Says the source, “When Amisha first met Kanav she wore a very distinct perfume you only get in USA. Kanav has kept bottles of that to remind him of his ladylove. Amisha too has Kanav’s favourite colognes with her.” Amisha says reluctantly, “It’s very personal and I don’t want to discuss it. We are both concentrating on our work right now and we have no choice but to be apart.”
Bad news for Shahrukh Khan-Kajol-Karan Johar fans if the strong buzz going around in the trade circles is to be believed. Our trade sources claim that Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions’ and Shahrukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment’s joint production My Name Is Khan might not release in December 2009 as scheduled. Its release is being postponed to early 2010.
Sources tell us, “The on-going producers v/s multiplex stand off has thrown the scheduled releases dates of many a biggies off the hook. The nearly two and a half months that have been wasted due to the strike is likely to create a heavy rush of releases at the box office once the issue is sorted out. The makers of biggies have already begun plans to tread cautiously if such circumstances arrive. It would mean hara-kiri to release big ticket films together by letting their films eat into each other’s business.
“The reworking of release schedules of their films and pushing them ahead has started taking place. So most of the earlier scheduled big ticket June releases are now coming either in July or in August. Similarly, those earlier planned for August will now be pushed ahead to October – November what with the month of Ramzan starting in August which generally sees no big release. Karan Johar’s Rensil D’Silva directed Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor-Vivek Oberoi starrer Qurbaan has been planned for a November end release. With the heavy dates shuffling happening there may be a change in release date for it as well and be pushed ahead by a week or two.
“My Name Is Khan was scheduled for mid December release, that is, at least two weeks before Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots releases. But with all this happening it seems less likely that Karan Johar and Shahrukh would be able to squeeze in their film in between Qurbaan and 3 Idiots which releases on December 25th. So perhaps taking a safer route, they must be intending to release it in early 2010.”
If this happens then Shahrukh won’t have any major release in 2009 and his only release would be Dulha Mil Gaya which has him in an extended Special appearance
